It looks like HTC is planning on launching 3 Android tablets in the first half of 2011. The first model will apparently be named the “Flyer”, which is said to start shipping this March in the US. The Flyer will look like a large HTC Desire smartphone, running Android 2.3 with an upgrade path to Android 3.0 when it’s available.
HTC aims to launch the tablet around the same time if not before the Motorola Xoom and BlackBerry PlayBook, to stay ahead of the crowd, but until we get some specs, we won’t be able to say whether this tablet would compete with those as the Xoom and PlayBook are top of the line tablets.
The other 2 tablets mentioned earlier are said to be launching in June this year, running Android 3.0. Maybe one of these is the “HTC Scribe” we talked about here earlier as well.
